Meet Our Coaching Staff

Brothers Michael and Jordan Ferreira share as much passion and love for the game as their names might suggest. Born on the small island of Nantucket, MA the brothers grew up around the game of basketball, as both their father and uncle served as long time High School basketball coaches. Spending time with Former NBA and College coaches and players, they have gained significant knowledge of the game. Both brothers would go on to play at the Division 3 college level and later share their knowledge of the game as Assistant coaches of high school teams.  As their passion and knowledge of basketball grew they decided to start South Shore Basketball Academy so they could continue helping players achieve there full potential.


Coach Jordan Ferreira

During his High School career at Nantucket High Jordan was a three year Captain 1,000 point scorer, All-Region selection and an All-State Nominee his senior year. Following high school Jordan would attend Thomas College were he made the basketball team but would go on to transfer to the University of New England where he played primarily as a shooting guard but also played the Point guard and the Forward Positions. He was selected to the Division 3 All-Rookie Maine team as a first year player at the University of New England.  He began coaching while in high school, where he was a camp instructor under legendary Celtic coach and Hall of Famer K.C. Jones as well as former NBA player and Coach Mike Dunleavy.  He spent one year as an assistant coach of Nantucket high school’s Varsity Basketball team.  As a senior in College Jordan spent time at a basketball training facility where he supervised, coached, and instructed clinics for high school and college level players.  He graduate from the University of New England in December of 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management and a Minor in Business Administration.  Immediately following his graduation from college he became the Boys Varsity Assistant Coach at Cape Cod Academy for the 2013-2014 season.


Coach Mike Ferreira

During his career at Nantucket High School Mike was a three year starter and two year Captain, an all-regional selection, and all-State nominee. Due to Renal Kidney Failure at a young age Mike's high school career was cut down to just three season.  In those three season he was just short of 1,000 points with just over 950 for his career.  As a point guard he helped lead his team to two straight playoff appearances.  After High school he went on to play at the division 3 level at both Mitchell College and Umass Boston.  After college he spent two season as an assistant coach with Nantucket High school's boys varsity team. He has also coached clinics alongside legendary NBA coaches K.C. Jones and Mike Dunleavy Sr. He is currently the assistant coach at Cape Cod Academy.
